Fans of the Renault brand came together at the UTAC Autodrome de Linas-Monthléry.
The largest meeting of Renault enthusiasts
After a three-year hiatus, Losange Passion International returned to the UTAC Autodrome de Linas-Monthléry on Saturday, 1 October 2022. Created by the Club Amateurs d'Anciennes Renault, the must-attend event celebrated its 6th edition.
More than 3,500 Renault and Alpine enthusiasts gathered together to admire the classic and modern cars given the privilege to drive on the record-breaking track.
Celebrating Renault 5!
Renault Classic really came through for the occasion with an exhibition of its most beautiful models to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic Renault 5. This collection of fifteen or so cars were not the only ones in attendance, as various Renault 5 fan clubs made the journey!
The record-breaking track
From the side of the track, visitors admired legendary models like the Riffard tank, 40 CV des records and even Nervasport, which set three world records on this very racing circuit on 4 and 5 April 1934. We will explore this in greater detail soon.
Passion and excitement
Losange Passion International’s guest of honour, Jean Ragnotti, made a special appearance at the event, much to the delight of his fans. In a symbolic gesture, the famous driver took part in the R5 Turbo show with a “passing of the wheel” ceremony with Julien Saunier. In the footsteps of his predecessor, Julien took over the torch. Behind the wheel of a Renault 5 Maxi Turbo, he put on an amazing show of donuts and drifts in front of a lively crowd.
Ragnotti then held a meet-and-greet session during which he signed autographs and shook hands with his delighted fans.
Clubs at the event
It’s the Renault and Alpine clubs in attendance who make this event a true success. Collectors travelled from all regions of France, Switzerland and even the Czech Republic! Clio Williams, Renault 5 Turbo, Alpine A310, pre-war models, Renault 30, and more... The owners of these legendary vehicles showed up despite the uncertain weather forecast.
The result was a parade of a wide variety of models, showcasing the brand’s history back to 1898.
Towards the end of this memorable event, after a wonderful display of the Renault brand’s heritage, the sun finally decided to shine down on Losange Passion International. Join us in 2024 for the 7th edition of this event in which enthusiasts have the opportunity to come together on legendary sites in French motorsport.
