Renault Fiftie

The Renault Fiftie was much more than a modernized version of the 4CV.

A strong testimony to the 4CV, on its 50th birthday, the Renault Fiftie was introduced at the Geneva Auto Show in March 1996, the same year that the Supercinq left the Renault's catalog. The Fiftie was a pioneer of the future engine that will equip the Twingo in the following months. It also benefited from state-of-the-art technical solutions such as the aluminum frame of the Spider Renault Sport and a carbon fiber body.

Inspired of the 4CV, its shape attracted sympathy, but nonetheless asserted its modernism, thanks to its proportions. Elements such as projectors, lights, wheels, the sunroof made out of retractable lamellae were also remarquable. The interior let in a bright and warm atmosphere, reinforced by unusual materials : linen-made seats, linoléum-covered floors ... the door board  and door panels both made out of rattan.
